Profile: Theodora Christodoulidou is a lecturer in law at Philips College. She currently teaches Tort law, Criminal law and the English Legal System.
Theodora was educated at the University of Athens, Greece, where she gained a ptychion in law (1997). She continued her studies at the University of Bristol, UK, where she gained a LL.M in International and European Law (1998). She subsequently received a scholarship by the (Greek) State Scholarship Foundation (IKY) to pursue her Ph.D in International Law at King’s College London, UK. She successfully completed her Ph.D entitled "The use of force and the promotion and protection of human rights" (2004).
Theodora is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association since 2005 and works as a human rights lawyer.
Theodora has recently published an article on the principle of proportionality in self-defence and humanitarian intervention at the Journal of International Law on Peace and Armed Conflict (JILPAC), and two Reports on the Situation of Fundamental Rights in Cyprus. She presented a number of papers at international conferences including a conference organised by the European Society of International Law (ESIL) in Paris (2006).
